Bicycle Skills Rodeo

A Bike Skills Rodeo includes a bike safety inspection and minor adjustments as well as a series of skills learning stations directly related to everyday bicycling situations. Skills assessed will include starting and stopping, safely exiting a driveway, looking for traffic, negotiating intersections and avoiding common road hazards.

Participants will need to bring a parent or guardian. Students may bring their own bicycles and helmets to have them checked for fit and safety. If participants do not have a helmet that is less than 3 years old, one will be provided to keep free of cost. Bicycles will be available for use during the event.

This event is part of the Historic Triangle Williamsburg Safe Kids Day Event and is open to students in grades K-5. There is no cost to participate. The Bike Rodeo is sponsored by WJCC Schools’ Safe Routes to School in partnership with BikeWalk Williamsburg.
