The Bicycle Co-Op of Williamsburg’s mission is to address transportation equity by providing bikes to low-resourced populations in the Greater Williamsburg Area at no cost. 

Our generous community donates bikes and cycling items to us which our volunteers then refurbish and sell at more affordable prices back to the community. Each of these purchases help cover operational expenses and allows us to afford costs related to repairing and donating bikes through our Voucher Program and to partners serving people in need of reliable transportation. 

One measure of whether we are satisfying our mission is by comparing how many bikes we sell versus how many we donate in a year. For 2025, we sold 506 and donated 863 bikes! This could not happen without the support of both the community and our volunteers who are the heartbeat of the Co-Op! 

Additionally, we offer donation-based DIY Repair Days and FREE monthly kids bike giveaways along with community workshops and social rides. We welcome bicycle donations during our open hours and are always looking for volunteers to help us deepen our presence and impact on the community!
