The Bicycle Co-Op of Williamsburg’s Mission is to provide donations of bikes along with helmets, front and rear lights and locks to low-resourced populations in the Greater Williamsburg Area. 

Thanks to the support of the community through donations of bicycles and cycling-related items to the Co-Op, we are able to accomplish this mission because of dedicated volunteers who refurbish and sell these items at more affordable prices back to the community. One measure of our success in fulfilling our mission is comparing how many bikes we sold versus how many we donated in a year. For 2025, we sold 506 and donated 863 bikes! 

Refurbished bikes are donated from the Co-Op to the community in a couple of ways: through our Voucher Program and through partnerships with nonprofits who can donate a large number of bikes to the community they serve. Both of these programs rely on collaborations between the Co-Op and 25+ nonprofits, educational institutions, state health and human services organizations, and similar community-serving organizations. 

Additionally, we offer donation-based DIY Repair Days plus community workshops and social rides. We welcome bicycle donations during our open hours and are always looking for volunteers to help us deepen our presence and impact on the community!
