Our Voucher Program further connects with BikeWalk Williamsburg’s overarching goal of encouraging “everyone to bike or walk everywhere.” This program is a collaboration with partnering nonprofits, state health and human services agencies, and education institutions who are providing support to our communities’ vulnerable populations. Their clients receive a voucher to exchange at the Co-Op for a bike, helmet, lights, and a lock - all at no cost to them. 

Many of these customers need consistent and reliable transportation for employment, school, medical and various appointments, and increasing their overall well-being. If you are interested in becoming a partner for the Voucher Program, please contact us.

We provide education and mentoring through our DIY Repair Hours on Mondays from 12 - 5PM and Thursdays from 12 - 7PM. Bike stands, tools, and often salvaged parts are available for this donation-based service. Please note that this is not a drop-off service, and you will work on your bike with access to knowledgeable volunteer mechanics. 

The Co-Op offers community workshops on subjects such as Basic Bike Maintenance, Bike Camping with our friends at the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation, etc. We also host the occasional social ride and outreach rides like Cranksgiving. For our inaugural Cranksgiving ride in 2025, we collected and delivered - by bikes - over 550 pounds of donated food to our nonprofit friends helping feed people during the holidays! 

You can also find us supporting cycling events like Cap2Cap and Bikes & Beers, Mechanical Mondays at William & Mary, tabling in our public schools and Parks and Rec-hosted community events plus annual events like the JCC Repair Fair and National Night Out. Please keep an eye on the main calendar for dates, times, and details.

On the LAST SATURDAY of each month right after Sales hours wrap up, we hold a kids bike giveaway! This event is "first come, first served" with no holds, and the number of bikes we can offer varies based upon how many youth bikes are donated to us. We recommend youth be present for the best bike fitting. This event is held rain or shine.
